I was born in 1943 in Nottingham and quickly realised that I belonged in West Yorkshire where my mother was brought up and where my beloved granny still lived. After a Leeds degree in Philosophy and English I taught for a while in Yorkshire and Libya which included a spell as a Samaritan in York. The latter ended when at the age of 34 my voice became well known as the presenter of the BBC Radio Leeds breakfast programme. This launched a career as a freelance actor, writer, broadcaster. During this time I trained as a counsellor and worked at MIND, and more recently I trained as a spiritual healer and worked at the Leeds Healing centre.
Right now I’m a happily married vegetarian peasant with an allotment in the Yorkshire Dales, with three grown up children, two children-in-law, and two grandsons and I love ‘em all.
